Round three of the NCAA D2 football playoffs has come and gone! As action took place on Dec. 6, it was the Ferris State Bulldogs and the Minnesota State Mavericks who went head to head. In the end, Ferris State walked away with a 52-29 victory.

Both teams played consistent offense early in the game, heading into the halftime break with only ten points separating the two teams. 

Ferris State pulled away offensively in the third and fourth quarters to helped secure the victory. In the 52-29 victory, the Bulldogs tallied 482 yards of total offense on the day. 

Quarterback Chase Carter was 15-for-24 on pass completion with 175 yards and two touchdown passes. Carter was also the leading rusher with 149 yards on 22 carries and two rushing touchdowns! 

Minnesota State ended the day with 283 yards of total offense. Quarterback Mitchell Thompson was 12-for-23 on pass completion with 151 yards and one touchdown! 

Thompson also had two rushing touchdowns with 42 yards on 11 carries. 

The Bulldogs will head into the Semifinals contest, and still remain undefeated on the 2025 season. The teams will be re-seeded to determine opponents.
