The second-round of the NCAA D1 FCS football playoffs has come and gone. it was a long and exciting day of December football for the schools who went to battle to advance to the next week.

Eight games were on the schedule for Dec. 6-7 and eight teams have survived to advance to the quarterfinals on Dec. 12. 

In the long day of action there were some pretty obvious winners, like Montana State taking down Yale and Tarleton State taking down North Dakota. there were also some major upsets like Villanova upsetting Lehigh and South Dakota shutting out Mercer. 

Montana came away with a massive 50-29 victory over South Dakota State, while North Dakota State and Illinois State came down to the wire in the one-point contest. 

Four games are on the schedule for Dec. 12 and as eight teams will turn in to four, there is so much action football fans won't want to miss.

As the bracket has gotten smaller, four matchups will highlight the docket for the third-round of NCAA D1 FCS playoff action. Here are the matchups!

As time expires on the final FCS D1 playoff games on Dec. 6/7, UC Davis survives to see another week after knocking off Rhode Island. the final score of the contest is 47-26.
