The second-round of the NCAA D1 FCS playoff battle is here. With action kicking off on Dec. 6, here is a look at Villanova vs. Lehigh.

December football is finally here! As the NCAA D1 FCS playoff continue into the second round, one of the most anticipated matchups features the only CAA team left in the bracket.

Villanova will take on Lehigh in the second-round matchup in the FCS playoffs. Villanova claimed a No.12 seed in the original bracket, and has already played on post-season game. Lehigh claimed a fifth seed in the original selection show and received an opening-round bye.
The Villanova Wildcats head into the contest with one playoff game under their belts, opening the NCAA playoff bracket on Nov. 29. In the opening-round matchup the Wildcats walked away with a dominant 52-7 victory over Harvard.
In the contest against Harvard, Villanova tallied 512 total yards of offense. Quarterback Pat McQuaide was 14-for-22 on pass completion with 193 yards and three touchdown passes. The Wildcats enter the upcoming contest 10-2 on the season and ended CAA play with a 7-1 record.
The Lehigh Mountain Hawks come into the NCAA post-season after having an opening-week bye, courtesy of being one of the top-eight seeded teams. The Mountain Hawks have been a dominant force all season heading into their first NCAA playoff contest a perfect 12-0 on the season and ending Patriot League play 7-0.
In the most recent contest on Nov. 22, Lehigh secured the Patriot League title with a 42-32 victory over Lafayette. In the victory, the Mountain Hawks tallied 499 yards of total offense. Quarterback Hayden Johnson was 11-for-16 on pass completion with 159 yards and one touchdown pass.
The Wildcats and the Mountain Hawks have squared off 19-times in the programs history and Villanova currently holds the series 14-5. As the two teams prepare for the 20th meetup, Lehigh will hold home-field advantage, hosting its first playoff game since 2004.
The Wildcats and the Mountain Hawks will be up first on the round-two docket with kickoff ser for 12 PM ET/ 11 AM CT. The action can be streamed live on ESPN +.
