The second-round of the NCAA D1 FCS Football playoff is right around the corner. With action taking place on Dec. 6, here is a look at the matchups.

As the calendar hits December and the world heads into the holiday season, those who are lucky enough to still be playing football have never been happier. 

The opening week of the NCAA D1 FCS playoffs took place on Nov. 29 and with so much action taking place across the course of the day, the field gets a little smaller but also sees some new faces as we head into the second-round matchups. 

With just one CAA school left in the playoffs, this week of competition sees top competitors facing-off for what could be the first time in the 2025 season. 

Eight matchups make up the docket on Dec. 6.  So without further ado, here is the full schedule for the second-round of the NCAA D1 FCS playoffs.

Please note all times are listed in Eastern Time. 

  • 12 p.m., No. 12 Villanova at No. 5 Lehigh
  • 12 p.m., No. 11 South Dakota at No. 6 Mercer
  • 1 p.m., North Dakota at No. 4 Tarleton State
  • 1 p.m., Illinois State at No. 1 North Dakota State
  • 2 p.m., No. 10 Abilene Christian at No. 7 Stephen F. Austin
  • 2 p.m., Yale at No. 2 Montana State
  • 2 p.m., No. 14 South Dakota State at No. 3 Montana
  • 10 p.m., No. 9 Rhode Island at No. 8 UC Davis

How To Watch NCAA D1 FCS Playoffs

While these matches won't be streamed on FloCollege, D1 football fans can keep up with their favorite FCS teams on ESPN+ and ESPN2. 

When Is The FCS D1 Championship Game 

The NCAA FCS D1 championship game will be held on Jan. 5 in Nashville, Tenn.
