Late Score Secures A Monmouth Victory Over Towson In Close CAA Matchup

As the dust settles in Johnny Unitas Stadium in Towson, Md, the No.11-ranked Monmouth Hawks came away victorious over the Towson Tigers on Oct. 11

In a back-and-forth battle until the very end, a late score at the two-minute mark in the fourth quarter sealed the deal for the Hawks. 

In the 42-31 victory, it was a back and forth scoring battle after the first quarter. Monmouth was quick to score in the first quarter and the offensive momentum never slowed for either team after that. 

Monmouth tallied 448 total yards of offense in the contest. Quarterback Derek Robertson was 26-for-31 on pass completion with 244 yards and two touchdown passes. Elijah Jennings was the leading rusher for the Hawks with 47 yards on 11 carries and three rushing touchdowns. 

Towson tallied 418 yards of total offense on the day. Andrew Indorf was 21-for-28 on pass completion with 292 yards and two touchdown tosses. John Dunmore was one of the leading receivers  for the Tigers with 67 yards on five receptions and one touchdown. 

The Hawks move to 5-1 on the season and 2-0 in CAA play. Monmouth will return home on Oct. 18 to take on Stony Brook

The Tigers move to 3-4 on the season and 1-2 in CAA play. Towson will have a bye week on Oct. 18 and will be back in action to take on Stony Brook on the road on Oct. 25.

The Tigers are not going away without a fight! Caden Williams drills a 30-yard field goal to cute the Monmouth lead to four with just under five minutes left to play in regulation!

The Hawks have reclaimed the lead at the halfway point of the fourth quarter. Derek Robertson completed a 10-yard pass to Jack Neri to find the end zone and another 7 points for Monmouth after the made PAT.

The fourth quarter starts just an excitingly as the quarters prior as Towson finds the end zone to tie the game in the fourth. Winston Watkins finds the end zone on the QB keeper and it's all tied up at 28!

The Third quarter is complete from Towson! With just one quarter left to play, it is only a one-score game!

After a fairly quiet third quarter, the Monmouth Hawks fund themselves in the end zone once again. Elijah Jennings muscled his way into the end zone to extend the Hawks lead.

Just three short minutes into the start of the second half and it's all tied up at Towson. The Tigers received to start the second half and were quickk to charge down the filed. Andrew Indorf completed the six-yard pass to Lukkas Londono for the score!
