Week 5 brought high-scoring matchups, statement wins, and one major upset in San Angelo. 

Western Oregon, Midwestern State, West Texas A&M, and Central Washington all earned big victories, while UT Permian Basin stunned Angelo State to stay undefeated in both conference and overall play.

LSC Football Week 6 Matchup Previews & Predictions: 

A weekend full of LSC  action kicks off on Saturday, Oct. 11. These four matchups are streaming live on FloCollege, so be sure to tune in for all the action!

Western Oregon vs. Eastern New Mexico

Western Oregon (3-2, 2-1 LSC) hits the road to face Eastern New Mexico (1-4, 1-2 LSC) in Portales, N.M. The Wolves look to build off their recent win, while the Greyhounds aim to rebound from a tough loss to Central Washington.

Kickoff: 5:00 p.m. ET on FloCollege

Prediction: Western Oregon’s momentum should carry through despite the road test. Expect the Wolves to edge Eastern New Mexico.

No. 13 Central Washington vs. No. 6 UT Permian Basin

It’s the marquee LSC matchup of the week as No. 13 Central Washington (4-1, 3-0 LSC) visits No. 6 UT Permian Basin (5-0, 3-0 LSC). Both teams have been dominant — the Wildcats’ only loss came to FCS Montana, while the Falcons are coming off their upset of Angelo State.

Kickoff: 7:00 p.m. ET on FloCollege

Prediction: This could go either way, but Central Washington’s consistency on both sides of the ball gives them a slight edge — even against the Falcons’ home-field advantage.

Midwestern State vs. Sul Ross State

Midwestern State (1-4, 1-2 LSC) travels to Alpine, Texas, to face Sul Ross State (0-5, 0-3 LSC). The Mustangs picked up a much-needed win in Week 5, while the Lobos look to turn things around on homecoming weekend.

Kickoff: 8:00 p.m. ET on FloCollege

Prediction: Midwestern State should have enough to take this one — even if it’s not the prettiest win.

No. 11 Angelo State vs. Texas A&M Kingsville

After suffering an upset loss to UT Permian Basin, No. 11 Angelo State (4-1, 2-1 LSC) looks to rebound against Texas A&M Kingsville (2-3, 1-2 LSC). Both teams are eager to bounce back from Week 5 defeats.

Kickoff: 8:00 p.m. ET on FloCollege

Prediction: Kingsville has the home-field advantage, but Angelo State’s depth and experience should push them back into the win column.
