Anderson (SC) and Emory & Henry collide in a must-watch SAC showdown. Here's what you need to know about the match-up coming this Saturday, Sept. 27.

In what is just their second time playing against each other, Anderson (SC) takes on Emory & Henry football on their own turf in a match-up between two teams that have been right on the edge of the FloFootball D2 Football Rankings each week.

Although the history may be short between these two, they'll be as ambitious as ever to add a fourth win, both entering the weekend with three wins and just one loss.

Hoping to rebound off of losing last weekend to South Atlantic Conference (SAC) rival Mars Hill by just one touchdown, the Anderson (SC) Trojans ran out of time as they tried to surge back to tie it up. 

Emory & Henry Wasps return home after a road trip to Tusculum, where the Wasps stung the Pioneers with a painful third loss in a row, 34-13.

Anderson (SC) enters the contest 3-1 with a 1-1 SAC record. Having only allowed 14 points in their first three games, the Trojans found themselves with quite the uphill battle when they started the fourth quarter down 21-7 against Mars Hill. They were almost able to tie it up but ran out of time, starting their final drive with just 25 seconds. 

Senior Quarterback Tyler Wesley completed two quick 20-yard passes to Zay Williams but still had half the field left in front of them before the clock hit zero. In 2024, Anderson (SC) only secured three wins all season, so their start in 2025 is nothing but impressive as they continue to take strides forward as a program.

Emory & Henry enters the contest 3-1 with a 2-1 SAC record. The Wasps' week 3 loss to No. 21 Lenoir-Rhyne by 3 points is likely still a bit painful to look back on, after an offsides call gave the Bears' kicker Daniel Deneen Jr. a second attempt on the game-winning field goal at the final whistle, after missing the first one.

If the Wasps hope to repeat their success from 2024, they'll have to get through Anderson (SC) before taking on some tough opponents in Carson-Newman, Mars Hill, and Wingate—all of which have been receiving votes and making the FloFootball D2 Football rankings in recent weeks.
