Towson meets Bryant in Smithfield, R.I., for an exciting week 5 CAA football clash. The two teams share the same 2-2 season record and are only one team apart in the CAA standings. The even match will make for a fierce fight Sept. 27 at 1 p.m. ET at Beirne Stadium.

Last week, Towson fell to Youngstown in their first home game. After Youngstown put the first points on the board in the first quarter, Towson dominated the second quarter. 

The Tigers scored two touchdowns—by Al Wooten II and Kemarrion Battles—to lead going into the second half. Towson still led going into the third quarter when Youngstown turned on the gas to earn a touchdown and two field goals to win the game.

Though Youngstown topped Towson in total yards (426-378), the Tigers earned more passing yards (285-277). Freshman quarterback Andrew Indorf went 18-for-29 in passing, and other passing leaders John Dunmore and Bryce Lafollette helped raise the number. 

The match also marked the first 100+ yard receiving game of the season by Jaceon Doss.

Bryant’s week-four game against CAA team Campbell resulted in an overtime 48-50 loss. The fourth quarter ended tied at 35-35, which sent the game into overtime at 42-42. 

Campbell scored a touchdown and completed a successful rush on their final drive. Bryant answered by adding six points but couldn’t match the outcome.

Bryant was statistically outplayed by Campbell in passing (215-337), rushing (175-200), first downs (19-27), and total yards (390-557). The Bulldogs still managed to hold their own on the scoreboard.
