Week 3 of NCAA D2 football is coming up fast! With most of the conferences kicking off play this week, the Lone Star Conference is back in full force. Based on the rankings by FloCollege, No.11-ranked UT Permian Basin will head to Kingsville, Texas to take on Texas A&M-Kingsville.

The Falcons and the Javelinas will open LSC play on Sept. 20 at Pepsi Field at Javelina Stadium. UTPB will be the visitors for its second road-contest of the season. TAMUK will play host for the second time this season after returning from a road contest on Sept. 13.
UTPB heads into the Week 3 contest 2-0 on the season. The Falcons have taken commanding victories over Central Oklahoma, 34-14, and Adams State, 41-7.
In the most recent victory over Adams State on Sept.6, the Falcons tallied 359 yards of offense, 275 of those coming through the air. Starting quarterback Issac Mooring was 20-for-26 for 266 yards and three touchdown passes.
The Javelinas are 1-1 heading into the contest against the Falcons. TAMUK opened the season with a commanding home victory over Lincoln (CA) 60-12 and most recently fell short in the first road-matchup against Northwest Missouri State University, 40-29.
In the most recent contest on Sept. 13, the Javelinas tallied 343 yards of offense with 255 of those through the air. Quarterback Jack Turner was 26-for-46 on pass completion with two interceptions. Andre Branch was the leading rusher for the Javelinas with 60 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown.
