After returning from Portales, NM to open LSC play with a 31-20 victory over Eastern New Mexico, the Rams will play host to the Western New Mexico Mustangs on Sept. 20. Based on the FloCollege rankings, No.4-ranked Angelo State heads into the contest 3-0 on the season and 1-0 in Lone Star Conference play.

In an extremely lengthy contest against ENMU, courtesy of a two-and-a half hour weather delay, the Rams tallied a total of 147 offensive yards, using the run game to their advantage. Chad Pharies was the leading rusher for ASU with 77 yards on 17 carries for two touchdowns.

Western New Mexico will be the visitors in the contest at San Angelo. The Mustangs hold a 1-2 season record and are 0-1 in LSC play after a loss to the West Texas A&M Buffalos on Sept. 13. In the 58-27 loss, the Mustangs tallied 446 total yards of offense with 361 coming through the air. Quarterback Conner Ackerly was 27-for-23 in the contest against the Buffs with 324 yards and four touchdown passes.
