After a win over then-ranked No.19 Lenoir-Rhyne in Week 0, now No.6-ranked West Florida heads to Owensboro, Ky. to take on Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday, Sept. 6.

The Argonauts will take on the Panthers after a huge Week 0 win over the Bears, 48-21. The Argos put up an impressive 21 points in the first quarter and kept their foot on the gas for the remainder of the game. Quarterback, Marcus Stokes, had one of his best performances in the West Florida uniform. He had a 69% completion rate with 353 passing yards and four passing touchdowns. Stokes also had two rushing touchdowns. 

Kentucky Wesleyan will open its home season by hosting West Florida. The Panthers will play the Argos in Steele Stadium in the Week 1 matchup. The team will hope to start the season on a high note after winning their season opener against Northern Michigan, 33-13. The Panthers would go on to have a  2-9 record overall and a 1-8 record in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play. 

This will be the second meeting for the Panther and the Argos. Their last meeting in 2023 saw West Florida take a victory at Pen Air Field, 35-3.

The Panthers and the Argos are set to kickoff on Saturday, Sept.6 with kickoff scheduled for approximately 12:00 p.m ET. This game will be streamed live on FloCollege and the Flo Sports app.
