Emporia State Football and Angelo State will both play their final non-conference game of the 2025 season this week before hitting the ground running in their respective conferences. The Angelo State Rams will host the Emporia State Hornets as both teams are hot off a successful opening weekend and look to continue that momentum.

The Hornets outscored Minot State 27-7 to begin the season, and starting quarterback Ben Harris threw for an impressive 292 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Emporia State held a 27-0 lead up until the third quarter, with scores from wide receivers Malik O'Atis and Kingsley Bennett and running back Diego Cearnes.  

The Rams similarly captured a dominant 28-7 opening game win over Fort Hays State thanks to starting quarterback Braeden Fuller, who threw for 177 yards, three touchdowns, and just one interception. Angelo State finished with 366 yards of total offense, with 148 of them as rushing yards. 

Both teams have a win heading into the weekend, but only one will come out still unscathed.
