Ferris State football hosts Pittsburg State at Top Taggart Field in what is undoubtedly the biggest D2 football game of Week 0. 

Ferris State heads into the 2025-26 season as the defending national champions, having lost their first game last season before bulldozing through the competition to win the D2 National Championship.

That one loss a year ago came at the hands of the Pittsburg Gorillas, who will trade homefield advantage this year, heading to Big Rapids.

Carson Gulker returns to the starting QB spot for the Bulldogs, after a serious injury took him out of contention after Week 2 last season.
