Here's When Northern Michigan Football Will End The Streak In 2025

Northern Michigan Football will end its losing streak in 2025. Here's when the Wildcats will secure their first win since 2022.

Northern Michigan Football has not won a game since 2022, but at FloCollege, we have a feeling that this year will be the year. In 2024, the closest Wildcats came was in the overtime showdown against Roosevelt, but they ultimately fell 16-10.

Could Roosevelt be the game where Northern Michigan finally breaks the streak?

The Lakers' only win last season came against the Wildcats, as they finished 1-9. In the closest game of the season for either team, could this year's rematch be another story, and could Northern Michigan finally be victorious?

Looking Back At Last Year's Roosevelt vs. Northern Michigan Football Matchup

In 2024, Northern Michigan opened the scoring with a field goal in the first quarter but struggled to get its offense moving for the rest of the game. Quarterback Aidan Hoard, who is returning to lead the Wildcats this time as a junior, only attempted two passes and did not complete a single one, and was sacked once.

To lead Northern Michigan to a win in 2025, Hoard will need to provide the Wildcats with a more balanced offense, targeting his receivers more than just handing the ball off.

Improvement In Recruiting

In the offseason, Northern Michigan added 32 players, including 24 on offense and eight on defense, and while it's necessary to add to the offense, it might be even more important to add to the defense. Northern Michigan was outscored 451-172 in 2024, proving the need for improvement on both sides of the ball.

Could this new signing class be the one to give the Wildcats the spark they need in 2025?

Will Northern Michigan Football Win A Game In 2025?

While nothing is guaranteed for any team, Northern Michigan should be properly motivated to win a game in 2025. The Wildcats currently have the second-longest losing streak of any NCAA D2 football team in the country, having lost 22 games in a row. West Virginia Wesleyan is the only team to have not won a game in longer, and has lost 24 games in a row.

FloCollege's R.R. Ellis has also made the same bold prediction that Northern Michigan will win a game in 2025.

We can sit here and predict a win all we want, but it ultimately comes down to how the Wildcats perform on the field.
