Guilford football is hungry for success in 2025 after a disappointing 2024 season that ended with a 3-7 record that saw the team lose seven straight games.

Opening their season with the 24th Annual Soup Bowl against Greensboro College, the Quakers are looking to start their season 1-0 and use the momentum throughout the season. 

With quarterback Caleb Robles returning after a stellar freshman season where he threw for 1,194 yards and seven touchdowns while rushing for 282 yards and two more touchdowns, he knows what the competition will look like. Returning to lead the offense with Robles is running back Malik Woodward, who led the team with 516 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. 

Fellow running back Evan Sullivan is also returning, looking to wreak havoc on opposing defenses as a solid pair out of the backfield. 

On defense, Ayden Carpenter is returning for his senior season, looking to have another big year at linebacker. Last season, he had 49 tackles, including 6.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. Alongside him is Avery Garner, who had 40 tackles, including 4.5 tackles for loss and three sacks. 

Led by head coach Brad Davis, he’s still looking to lead the Quakers to a winning season. They have not won a conference game since 2022, but with two new teams joining the ODAC this season, this could be their chance.
