Willamette University Football Schedule 2025: Dates, Times And More

The Willamette football team knows how to win. The program has enjoyed many years of success - just not in a while. Is 2025 the year? Here's the schedule.

One of the things about collegiate athletics is that the whole concept is relatively cyclical. Over 100 years of on-field action, there are going to be peaks and valleys for every team.

That certainly is the case for the Willamette University football team, which was very successful from the 1920s through 1960 and then again for a few years in the late 1990s.

Unfortunately, the last decade hasn’t been kind to the Bearcats, who are 9-68 overall and 0-49 within the Northwest Conference since 2017. They’ve now lost 51 consecutive conference games dating back to the end of the 2016 season, the last time they didn’t finish last in the NWC standings.

There’s no doubt those are stats the Bearcats would prefer not to talk about as they focus on a clean slate and the 2025 campaign in front of them.

Willamette will open its 2025 schedule at home Sept. 6 against Pomona-Pitzer. It will be the first of three nonconference games, before the Bearcats head to Pacific Lutheran on Oct. 4 for their first NWC action of the year.

Last season, under first-year head coach Aric Williams, Willamette kicked off his tenure with a 27-24 double-overtime win at home against La Verne and then beat Simpson 21-18 in Week 3.

Conference play started the following week, and the Bearcats lost seven straight contests, while being outscored 295-47.

Again, new year, new beginning.
