Southern Connecticut State Football has added Joe Loth as the new head coach of the Owls, hoping his history of winning can turn the program around in 2025.

Loth comes to SCSU from Western Connecticut State, where he turned around a struggling program, turning a 21-game losing streak into twelve straight winning seasons. He was hired on May 5, giving him just the summer to work with his new team. 

With a depleted roster on both sides of the ball, Loth will have his work cut out for him, but if his history says anything, it's nothing he can't handle.

The Owls were picked to finish fifth in the NE10 but lost almost all key offensive and defensive players, with Jaylon Tucker being the top offensive player returning, a graduate student wide receiver who had 18 catches for 313 yards and two touchdowns. Senior Divine Edwards is the next receiver returning, and he had 13 catches for 138 yards and one score. 

On defense, it will be an almost entirely new group taking the field.
