Assumption Football is looking to follow up on its 6-4 record in 2025 and has several returning veterans looking to lead the charge. Picked to finish third in the NE10, tied with Franklin Pierce in the preseason standings, the Greyhounds are looking to stand out in conference play.

With quarterback Jay Kastantin returning for his junior season to lead the team, the Greyhounds' offense is set up for success. In 2024, he threw for 1,419 yards and nine touchdowns while rushing for an additional 162 yards and four scores. 

Running backs Kameron Robbins, who led the team on the ground with 771 yards and five touchdowns, and Jamar Ballard Jr, who had 174 yards and two touchdowns, are set to take care of the ball on the ground. Both are going into their junior season, and they’re looking to have breakout years to lead Assumption to an NE10 title.

While the Greyhounds will have new faces at wide receiver, the rest of the offense is looking to pick up where they left off. 

On defense, sack leader Owen Fitzgerald is back for his senior season at linebacker. As a junior, he had 79 tackles, including 9.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks, getting to the quarterback 17 times. On the defensive line, Tindell Frick had 38 tackles, six tackles for loss, and one sack. 

With head coach Andy McKenzie going into his seventh season, he knows what it takes to win in conference play. Last season, he led the Greyhounds to one of the biggest upsets of the season, taking down the giant of New Haven in a 19-14 thriller during homecoming weekend. 

In 2025, he’s looking to match the success he had in 2022, when he led the Greyhounds to an 8-3 record, losing just one conference game and claiming the NE10 conference title.
