The West Texas A&M Buffaloes are hoping that their 2025 signing class can help lead them to victory, as they have not had a winning season since 2021 and lost many key players following a 5-7 2024 season.

Sophomore Knox Porter is the next man up at quarterback, after the Buffs lost former starter Kanon Gibson to conference opponent UT Permian Basin, but Porter has not completed a pass in his college career. 

Led by head coach Josh Lynn, the Buffaloes are looking to rebuild, and Lynn, who is going into his third year at the helm of the program, has his work cut out for him. After his first two seasons, he has a combined record of 8-13 but has had success at the DII level, as he led his previous school Nebraska-Kearney to a 35-25 record during his tenure and made it to the second round of the Division II Playoffs in 2021.

He’s begun to rework and add to his staff ahead of the 2025 season, naming Justin Bane as the new offensive coordinator and promoting Justin Richter to defensive coordinator.
