The Valdosta State Blazers may have ended off the 2024 season with a loss, but it was the only one of the year. An undefeated regular season and a conference championship win guided the Blazers all the way to the NCAA DII National Championship, where they met an unfortunate end against Ferris State.

The three-headed monster that led the team featured quarterback Sammy Edwards, wide receiver Rodney Bullard, and running back Blake Hester, who have now since graduated. Edwards threw for 3,291 yards and over 30 touchdowns, while Bullard and Hester claimed over 1,000 offensive yards each to help the Blazers to a 13-1 overall record in 2024.  

Without the trio, Valdosta State will need to see some serious reinforcement from the veterans that are returning. Backup Seth Smith seems to be the next man in line for quarterback, and Samuel Curry will step up at wide receiver and Joseph McKay at running back. 

The squad also welcomes new head coach and former offensive coordinator Graham Craig, who could be a key component in Valdosta State's future success.
