The Stony Brook Seawolves propelled themselves to an 8-4 season in 2024 following a less-than-ideal winless season in 2023, and now hope to revive the program once more with the departure of the key player that made it happen.

Quarterback Tyler Knoop threw for over 2,000 yards and made 17 touchdowns in his lone season with Stony Brook, and now the Seawolves are stuck trying to find his replacement. The team retained third-year quarterback Casey Case, who could once again step up to the starting position.

On the bright side, the Seawolves retained running back Roland Dempster, who brought in 1,332 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns for the squad last year.

32-year-old head coach Billy Cosh has demonstrated his immediate impact after joining the staff in 2024 and could very well bring Stony Brook to elite status in the CAA in a few seasons.
