Like always, Cam Guerin saved her best wrestling for the end of the season. The McKendree senior secured her fourth title at the National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships with another four-match sweep of the 130-pound bracket.

And she will pursue a historic fifth NCWWC championship next season. The Yakima, Washinton, native has a COVID year that she plans to use, which would put her in rarified air if she can win another title.

Her run to the 2024 finals was some of her best wrestling to date. She won her first two matches by 10-0 tech before a 12-0 victory over Aurora's Lexi Janiak — the same opponent she defeated in last year's finals, 9-0. Guerin holds a 3-2 edge in the series after the win.

King's Victoria Baez Dilone was the only person standing in Guerin's way. Dilone defeated Guerin, 2-2, at the National Duals but the Bearcat star got it back with a 2-1 victory decided by activity clock points.

"I want to be on my offense at all times," Guerin said. "In the finals, I wanted to enjoy every moment. I didn't want to get in bad positions. I just stayed in good position, took my time, and stayed calm."
