Dorsey averaged 22.5 points per game with 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals per contest, leading North Carolina A&T to a 2-0 week as the Aggies extended their winning streak to eight straight games. On Friday, the junior guard recorded her first-ever double-double with a career-high 23 points and 10 rebounds in a 76-43 road victory over UNCW. She followed the performance with 22 points, five assists, three steals and two rebounds in a 72-49 win over Northeastern on Sunday. Dorsey, who entered the week with a career-high of 21 points, has reached double figures in nine straight games, including 20 or more in three of the past four.  

CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Khari Clark, Stony Brook

Clark contributed 21.0 points per game on 60.7 percent (17-27) shooting with 7.0 rebounds per contest in a 2-0 weekend for Stony Brook. On Sunday, Clark poured in a career-high 30 points, shooting 11-of-16 from the floor with six rebounds, leading Stony Brook to a 78-62 road win over Monmouth. It marks her fifth game with at least 20 points this season. The effort came after adding 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds as the Seawolves defeated rival Hofstra, 67-49, on Friday. Clark leads the CAA and ranks top-10 nationally in field goal percentage, shooting 63.0 percent from the floor. 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Taryn Barbot, Charleston

Freshman | G | Floral Park, N.Y. / St. Mary 

Barbot paced Charleston with 20.5 points per game in a weekend split for the Cougars. On Friday, the freshman tallied 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting with six rebounds, one assist and one steal in an 86-57 victory over Hampton. On Sunday, Barbot scored a game-high 22 points, adding three rebounds, two assists and one steal despite a narrow setback to Towson on the road. The freshman, who leads the CAA in scoring at 17.1 points per game, has reached double figures in 13 straight games and has 20 or more seven times this winter. 

CONFERENCE NOTES:

TIED AT THE TOP: Midway through the CAA schedule, Stony Brook and North Carolina A&T remain tied for first place in the conference standings at 8-1. However, the Seawolves and Aggies have more breathing room following 2-0 weekends. The duo is now 2.0 games ahead of Charleston, Monmouth and William & Mary in a three-way tie for third place at 6-3. Stony Brook and A&T won their games by double digits this weekend as SBU improved to 14-1 in its past 15 games, and the Aggies won their 11th in the past 12 tries.

WHO’S GOT NEXT: The conference slate continues with six games on Friday and seven on Sunday. All eyes should be on North Carolina A&T, who looks to stay hot during a tough week. On Friday, the Aggies visit Charleston, the lone team to defeat A&T in league play, before traveling to Drexel on Sunday. Also, keep note of Towson at Stony Brook on Friday, as the top two teams from the preseason poll battle for the second time this winter. 

NOTHING BUT NET: As of Monday, Feb. 5, Stony Brook remained in the top 100 of the NCAA NET Rankings at No. 69, and North Carolina A&T cracked the top 150 for the first time this season at No. 140. Additionally, Charleston (155), Monmouth (163), William & Mary (173), Delaware (184), Towson (189) and Drexel (190) remained among the top 200. 

CAA HOOPS IN THE MID-MAJOR TOP 25: Two CAA teams were recognized in the latest College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 poll. Stony Brook remained ranked, moving to No. 8, while North Carolina A&T received votes for the second straight week. At least one conference team has been recognized in every poll this season, with multiple teams acknowledged in 11 of 13 weeks.  

TEAM NOTES:

Campbell

• Campbell won its second straight CAA road game, defeating Elon 53-35 on Sunday. The Camels led wire-to-wire, limiting the Phoenix to 26.0 percent shooting in the contest.

• Audrey Fuller scored a season-high 16 points to pace Campbell. She started 4-for-4 from the floor, scoring 11 of CU’s 24 first-half points. It was her third game in double figures this season.

• Gianni Boone added 10 points for her fifth double-digit scoring effort this year, and Svenia Nürenberg recorded a career-high 11 rebounds.

Charleston 

• Charleston went 1-1 this weekend, defeating Hampton (86-57) at home on Friday before falling to Towson (66-59) on the road Sunday. 

• Taryn Barbot reached double figures in both games, averaging 20.5 points per game. The freshman had 19 points in the victory before a game-high 22 on Sunday. Barbot has reached double figures in 13 straight games.

• On Friday, Jada Logan paced CofC with 25 points off the bench. It marks her fourth 20-point effort this season, with two coming in reserve minutes. 

Delaware

• Delaware split its contest over the weekend, falling to Drexel (53-49) on Friday before bouncing back with a road victory over Hofstra (82-59) on Sunday.

• Chloe Wilson paced UD with 15.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. She reached double figures in both contests, including a double-double (17p, 10r) on Friday.

• Ande’a Cherisier added 11.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. The freshman scored a team-high 17 points with seven rebounds in the UD victory.  

Drexel 

• Drexel went 1-1 this weekend, defeating Delaware (53-49) on Friday at home before falling on the road to William & Mary (75-62) on Sunday. 

• Chloe Hodges reached double figures in both contests, averaging 11.5 points per game, adding 5.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per contest. 

• Amaris Baker and Hetta Saatman also reached double figures for Drexel. Baker had a team-high 13 points in the win, and Saatman had a season-best 14 on Sunday.

Elon 

• Elon went 0-2 this weekend, falling to Northeastern (51-46) and Campbell (53-35) at home in back-to-back contests.

• Iycez Adams paced Elon in both games, averaging 13.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Adams reached double figures in both games and has 10 or more points 13 times this season.

• Ajia James also reached double figures, adding 12 points on Friday. James has six double-digit scoring efforts this year. For the week, James averaged 10.0 points per game.  

Hampton

• Hampton dropped back-to-back road contests, falling to Charleston (86-57) on Friday and UNCW (77-70) on Sunday. 

• Camryn Hill averaged 25.0 points per game, including a career-high 30 points on Friday. Hill followed with 20 points on Sunday, marking her sixth and seventh games with 20 or more this season.

• On Sunday, Ariana Wilkes and Le’Asia Foreman also reached double figures with 12 and 10 points, respectively. The point total marks a career-high for Wilkes.

Hofstra

• Hofstra went 0-2 over the weekend. The Pride fell to Long Island rival Stony Brook (67-49) on Friday before a setback to Delaware (82-59) on Sunday. 

• Sorelle Ineza paced Hofstra with 14.0 points per game, reaching double figures in both contests. Ineza had a team-high 12 points on Friday, followed by 16 on Sunday. 

• Emma Von Essen added 12.0 points per game, including 19 on Sunday. Von Essen has scored 10 or more points in 16 games this season. 

Monmouth 

• Monmouth went 1-1 this weekend. The Hawks defeated Towson (64-53) in a rematch of the 2023 CAA title game on Friday before falling to Stony Brook (78-62) on Sunday.

• On Sunday, Kaci Donovan tallied a team-high 18 points. It marks her 13th game in double figures this season, and she leads the Hawks with 13.1 points per game.  

• On Friday, Rosalie Mercille paced Monmouth with a game-high 16 points in 20 minutes off the bench. The freshman has at least 10 points four times this winter.

North Carolina A&T

• N.C. A&T had a dominant week, extending its winning streak to eight games. A&T defeated UNCW (76-43) on Friday before topping Northeastern (72-49) on Sunday. 

• Jordyn Dorsey had back-to-back 20-point efforts, including a career-high 23 points and 10 rebounds for her first-ever double-double on Friday. Dorsey has reached double figures in 17 games this season, including nine in a row.

• Paris Locke added 9.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. On Friday, the freshman had a career-high 12 points, marking the second time she has reached double figures this year.

UNCW 

• UNCW split its contests over the weekend, falling to N.C. A&T (76-43) on Friday before bouncing back with a victory over Hampton (77-70) on Sunday. 

• On Sunday, Mary Ferrito tallied a career-high 22 points off the bench to pace UNCW. Ferrito went 6-of-9 from the floor and 10-of-11 at the charity stripe, adding six rebounds and four assists.

• Mingaile Urmuleviciute also had a career day on Sunday, scoring 20 points. She went 6-of-8 from the field with nine rebounds.  

Northeastern 

• Northeastern went 1-1 on the road this weekend, defeating Elon (51-46) on Friday before falling to N.C. A&T (72-49) on Sunday. 

• Deja Bristol paced NU in scoring in both games, averaging 12.5 points per game. Bristol reached double figures in back-to-back games, marking 10 straight with at least 10 points. 

• Derin Erdogan also had double-digit points in both games, averaging 11.5 points per contest. Erdogan has reached double figures in 14 consecutive games and 17 this season.

Stony Brook 

• Stony Brook went 2-0 this weekend, defeating Hofstra (67-49) and Monmouth (78-62) by double digits. SBU has won all 18 games by at least 10 points this season.

• Khari Clark paced SBU with 21.0 points per game on 63.0 percent (17-27) shooting. Clark had a career-high 30 points at Monmouth, marking her fifth game with 20 or more this winter.

• Sherese Pittman contributed 17.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. She matched a season-high with 18 points against Monmouth after 16 at Hofstra.

Towson 

• Towson went 1-1 this weekend, falling to Monmouth (64-53) on the road Friday before returning home for a victory over Charleston (66-59) on Sunday.

• Alexia Nelson reached double figures in both games, averaging 15.5 points per game. Nelson had a season-high 18 points in the victory after 13 points on Friday. 

• On Sunday, Kylie Kornegay-Lucas had a team-high 20 points with six rebounds and a season-high four blocks. It marks her fourth game with 20 or more this season. 

William & Mary

• W&M defeated Drexel 75-62 on Sunday. The Tribe shot 51.7 percent (30-58) from the floor, outscoring DU 44-28 inside the paint, while the bench provided a huge lift, outmatching Drexel’s reserves 42-20.

• Nylah Young scored a team-high 27 points in 28 minutes off the bench. Young went 11-of-19 from the floor, adding seven rebounds. It marks her sixth 20-point effort this winter.

• Bella Nascimento added 13 points and four assists in reserve minutes. It marks back-to-back games in double figures and 15 this year.
