FCS Football Rankings For Week 6: Delaware Rises; William & Mary Drops

The Delaware Blue Hens climbed in the latest FCS rankings after walloping Duquesne. Meanwhile W&M Football continued to slide.

After beating Duquesne 43-17 in Week 5, Delaware Football jumped two spots in the FCS Coaches poll this week and is now the highest-ranked team from the CAA. 

The Blue Hens routed the Dukes at home on Saturday as quarterback Ryan O’Connor threw for 347 yards and four touchdowns on 28-of-40 passing. Delaware found itself trailing 17-15 at one point before reeling off 27 unanswered points. 

Delaware hosts North Carolina A&T this week.

While the Blue Hens were big risers in the latest poll, William & Mary, which suffered its second straight loss last week, dropped to No. 12. The Tribe led early against Virginia of the ACC, but eventually fell 27-13. W&M was ranked No. 9 last week after having not dropped out of the top five in the previous weeks. 

Rhode Island moved up three spots to No. 22, while New Hampshire remained at No. 24.
