While You Were Tailgating: 5 Things You Have To See From The Weekend
Another week, another jam-packed gift from the football gods -- unless, of course, you're a fan of LSU, Louisville, Missouri, or the prevent defense.

Here's what you may have missed while you were busy becoming a cornhole legend.

Derion Kendrick Put On A Show

South Carolina's top player was electric in his South Pointe team's 33-27 road victory over Buford (GA) on Friday night, throwing for two touchdowns and rushing for 211 yards and two touchdowns.

After an early special teams miscue gave Buford a 7-0 advantage in front of its home crowd, Kendrick silenced the Wolves' faithful with a perfectly thrown 38-yard strike to Scott Johnson to tie the game.

When Buford finally reclaimed the lead in the fourth quarter, it was Kendrick answering again -- this time with a 15-yard touchdown run to put the Stallions ahead for good.

Southern Cal And Texas Played An Instant Classic

Depending on your libation intake and/or your commitment to remaining locked into what was supposed to have been a massive matchup between Clemson and Louisville -- complete with blackouts and revenge-seeking Heisman Trophy winners -- you may have disregarded Texas' trip to Southern Cal on Saturday night.

For much of the game, this oversight would've been insignificant. However, late (like, really late), a sort of innocuous affair turned into an instant classic with USC's Sam Darnold and Chase McGrath playing the role of heroes in the Trojans' 27-24 double-overtime win.

LSU's Ears Are Still Ringing

The Tigers went into Starkville, MS, for a run-of-the-mill SEC matchup against unranked Mississippi State on Saturday evening -- or so they thought.

In reality, LSU walked into a hornets' nest of deafening cowbells and were ambushed by a grossly underrated group of Bulldogs who were more than ready for their close-up. En route to a 37-7 win, Mississippi State dominated LSU with a completeness we've rarely, if ever, seen before.

College football fans, meet Nick Fitzgerald: Heisman Trophy contender.

Florida Put A Beautiful Bow On A Pile Of…

Suffice to say, Tennessee-Florida wasn't exactly a work of art on Saturday.

Of course, if it's true that it's not about how you start but how you finish, then this one was beautiful to Gators fans courtesy of some extremely questionable moves by the Vols down the stretch -- the most egregious of which came on the final play:

Explain why there are not five defensive backs picnicking on the 20-yard line at the snap of the football. We'll wait.

Missouri Is Officially Celebrating Punts

Mizzou has seen better days -- and that statement isn't limited to the football team. But the football team is very poor at playing football, a fact lost on Vegas handicappers who actually listed Purdue as touchdown underdogs on Saturday.

Anyway, shoutout to Missouri punter Corey Fatony for providing the ultimate ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ moment of the 2017 season by pimping the absolute hell out of a punt whilst trailing 35-3 in the third quarter.
