Here are four college football picks to make against the spread this weekend, including Louisville-Clemson and USC-Texas.
Some good things happened last week. Oklahoma and Southern Cal made us look brilliant, for example. Some not-so-good things happened, as well. See: Texas, North.
This week, we'll count Lamar Jackson and Sam Darnold among our allies. What could possibly go wrong?
No. 14 LOUISVILLE (+3.5) over No. 3 Clemson
Saturday, Sept. 16 | 8 PM ET | Louisville, KY (Papa John's Cardinal Stadium)
In case you missed it, Lamar Jackson accounted for approximately 10,000 yards in Louisville's dominant road victory at North Carolina last Saturday. And, in case you missed it, Jackson and the Cardinals gave Clemson all it wanted under the lights in Death Valley last season.

Tigers quarterback Kelly Bryant has shown flashes early on, but Deshaun Watson he isn't -- yet. More importantly, Papa John's Stadium is going all black err'thing for this one. If I've learned nothing else in more than two decades of obsessing over college football, it's to always to side with blackouts and whiteouts -- especially when the team blacking out is led by a revenge-seeking Heisman Trophy winner who's the most electric quarterback we've seen since Michael Vick.
Purdue (+7) over MISSOURI
Saturday | 3 PM CT | Columbia, MO (Memorial Stadium)
This is the easiest line of the week. Jeff Brohm's Boilermakers look very good and score a whole bunch. Missouri looks very bad and stops no one.
Don't overthink it.
No. 4 SOUTHERN CAL (-17) over Texas
Saturday | 5:30 PM PT | Los Angeles, CA (Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum)
Seventeen points may seem a bit high, but consider that the Trojans would've covered this line against Stanford -- and Texas sure ain't Stanford.
USC is headed for the playoff, and the Longhorns aren't even a bump in the road. Sam Darnold and Co. roll at home against Shane Buechele or Sam Ehlinger or Jerrod Heard or Vince Young or whoever is behind center for Texas.
Fresno State (+33) over No. 6 WASHINGTON
Saturday | 6:30 PM PT | Seattle, WA (Husky Stadium)
Fresno State was a 43-point dog at Alabama last week. The Bulldogs lost by 31. Fresno State is a 33-point dog at Washington this week. The Bulldogs will lose by… I don't know, 31? 28?
Take the points and hold on for dear life.

Season Record: 8-4 -- Miiight've been a bit too high on the Mean Green. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
