Check out the offensive and defensive stats below from The Spring League Showcase in Napa, CA, on July 15. Led by passing touchdowns from Casey Pachall and Trenton Norvell, the East team earned a 23-19 win over the California squad.
Check out the offensive and defensive stats below from The Spring League Showcase in Napa, CA, on July 15. Led by passing touchdowns from Casey Pachall and Trenton Norvell, the East team earned a 23-19 win over the California squad at Memorial Stadium.
Pachall, a former TCU quarterback, threw for 84 yards on 4-for-6 passing, while the Western Illinois grad Norvell completed 3 of 5 passes for 56 yards.
Former Texas signal caller David Ash led the California team with 96 yards and on 9-of-13 passing, including a fourth-quarter strike to ex-San Francisco 49ers running back Anthony Dixon that cut the East's lead to four points with six minutes left to play. On the ground, Dixon finished with 55 yards on six carries and added a rushing touchdown.
On just two carries, the East's Paul Harris led all rushers with 74 yards, fueled by a 66-yard touchdown scamper.
Josh Robinson was the East's top receiver with two catches for 68 yards, including a 63-yard scoring bomb from Ash. For the California team, Griff Whalen caught four passes for 73 yards.
Defensively, Devon Torrence made a game-high eight tackles for the East, and William Smith led the California team with six. The East's Deandre Scott and California's Dylan Hynes each picked off a pass. Francis Nouvi was the only player to record two sacks.
